Improving the capacity and usability of EUROMOD (I-CUE) (2005 - 2008)

TÁRKI was the Hungarian participant in the EU-funded I-CUE project. The project was coordinated by ISER (Institute for Social and Economic Research, UK) and the European Centre, Vienna. It aimed to start the process of expanding EUROMOD to cover 10 new Member States and to make EUROMOD easier to use. (EUROMOD is a project to develop the European tax and benefit model. See the EUROMOD website). Each country produced a feasibility study, which included a description of the tax-benefit system, as well as data availability and access issues. After the study was completed, it was discussed at a workshop in Vienna (April 2006).

Ageing, Health Status and Determinants of Health Expenditure (AHEAD) (2004-2008)

TÁRKI was Hungary's representative in the policy-oriented research Ageing, Health Status and Determinants of Health Expenditure (AHEAD). The project sought to refine the existing estimates of the links between reported states of health and use of medical services. As well as looking at the effects of ageing on health care, the research considered the link between health expenditure and fertility rates, and the demands placed on health services by non-native populations. Particular attention was paid to the cost of care near death.

OECD Analysis (2003,2005,2007)

In October 2007, TÁRKI prepared a research note on income inequality and poverty in the enlarged EU. This research note used the most recent database suitable for international comparative research, the EU Community Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU SILC), year 2005, which was made available for research by the data use contract between Eurostat and TÁRKI. Analysis of income inequality and poverty was based on the methodology elaborated by OECD.

EAL-NET (2005-2007)

TÁRKI was the Hungarian partner in the EAL-NET (EuroAlmaLaurea) project. Its goal was to demonstrate the economic sustainability and the viability of a new transnational eRecruitment service aimed at university graduates and businesses. The EAL system was based on a 'graduate record', which every university had already possessed for its own management and administrative purposes (personal data, student career, degree, other specialisations, etc.).

Horizontal ex-ante evaluation / National Development Plans (2007)

The National Development Agency (NDA) commissioned a consortium led by TÁRKI to prepare a horizontal evaluation of the effects of the priority axes and interventions defined in the Operational Programmes of the New Hungary Development Plan. The horizontal dimensions analyzed in the course of the evaluation are as follows: long-term economic development, long-term employment, public finances, disadvantaged social groups and social distribution. A separate executive summary belongs to the evaluation report.
